Three College of Health and Human Sciences Faculty Members Receive Promotion

Two faculty members in the Department of Human Development & Family Science and one faculty member in the Department of Nutrition & Integrative Physiology received promotion.

Dr. Nari Jeter

Dr. Nari Jeter was promoted to teaching faculty II in HDFS, where she has been a faculty member since 2014. Her research interests look at the relational processes across individual and family development and their diverse contexts. In addition to her research and teaching, Jeter serves as the faculty advisor to the Family and Child Sciences Undergraduate Club. Jeter also was the recipient of the FSU University Teaching Award for Community Engaged Teacher. You can learn more about her research interests and publications here.
Michael Ormsbee
Dr. Michael Ormsbee

Dr. Michael Ormsbee was promoted to professor in NIP. As the graduate program director and the associate director of the FSU Institute of Sports Sciences & Medicine, Ormsbee makes an impact on the lives of his students as well as publishes important work about his areas of interest, including interventions that prevent obesity-related diseases, sports nutrition and more. He has won a number of awards, including the 2020 FSU Distinguished Teacher of the Year. You can read more about his work here.
Dr. Jenna Scott

Last but not least, Dr. Jenna Scott was promoted to teaching faculty II in HDFS. Her work focuses on reducing mental health symptoms in individuals and helping families identify and address negative patterns. She is also a licensed marriage and family therapist and AAMFT Approved Supervisor, and she incorporates her experience in a clinical setting into her coursework to help her students understand the field better.
