Dr. Gregory J. Harris was recently re-appointed as the Interim Department Chair in Human Development and Family Science this fall by Dean Michael Delp of the College of Health and Human Sciences at Florida State University. Dr. Harris will provide leadership for the talented faculty, top-notch doctoral and master’s students, and some of the brightest undergraduate students at FSU. In addition, he will work closely with the College’s leadership, departmental faculty, staff, and students in this role on top of his current responsibilities as associate dean for academic affairs, director of academic advising and student success, and teaching professor. He will support the directors, faculty, and students involved in research, policy development, and family well-being across the three dynamic departmental centers and institutes: the Family Institute, the Center on Better Health & Life for Underserved Populations, and the Center for Couple & Family Therapy. Throughout his distinguished career, he has helped mentor, teach, and lead, and for his efforts has received a number of prestigious accolades, including the 2021 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Distinguished Service Award.
