The Better Health and Life Center addresses issues of health and life development for underserved populations. Specifically, the mission of the BHL Center is to help underserved populations attain better health and life outcomes through transdisciplinary research and program development.



If you or someone you know is experiencing distress, therapy with a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) can help. MFTs are trained in systemic, and / or relational, therapy and they believe that throughout life we exist in a number of relationships that directly and indirectly impact our well-being.


CAENRA aims to determine effective exercise and nutritional interventions that can prevent and/or slow progression of chronic diseases and functional declines associated with aging and sharing these findings into practical recommendations for clinicians and the general public.

The Family Institute

Family Institute

The FSU Family Institute generates new information, trains professionals, and informs policy makers regarding families in Florida, the region, and the nation. The Institute serves as an interdisciplinary source of information about children and families, and involves recognized experts in the field.


ISSM is a state-of-the-art research laboratory dedicated to optimizing health, body composition, & human performance. ISSM is a collaborative effort between the College of Health and Human Sciences, FSU Athletics, College of Medicine, Nike, and our founding Partner, Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic.
